What Menbru keeps in your browser, what each item is for, how long it stays, and how to clear it.
Reference document
A cookie policy is only useful if it is an inventory. This one lists every cookie by name rather than describing categories in the abstract.
This page is a draft under legal review. It is not the final agreement, and its wording may change before Menbru relies on it.
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep, and which the browser sends back on the next request. It is what lets a site remember a choice between one page load and the next.
Cookies cannot read your files, run programs or see anything you do on other sites. What matters is not the mechanism but what each one is used for, which is why the rest of this page is a list rather than an explanation.
There is no advertising category, because Menbru carries no advertising.
None yet. This application has no session and no sign-in path (`ARC-028` puts identity in this application, and it has not landed), so nothing essential is currently set.
None. Your theme (light, dark or your device's setting) and your sidebar mode (open, closed or automatic) are not kept in a cookie: they are stored in your browser's local storage on this device and are not sent to Menbru.
None. No analytics tool is approved or in place, so no analytics cookie is set. This section stays in the inventory as preparation: the day a tool is adopted, it is listed here rather than added silently. [SEC-026 Enmienda 3]
None today. Menbru embeds no advertising scripts, no social widgets and no cross-site trackers, and no external identity provider or map tile provider is wired into this application yet.
This application keeps a few preferences in your browser's own storage, on this device only. They are read by your browser to draw the page, are never sent to Menbru, and hold nothing about you personally. It keeps nothing else there — no draft text, no saved address.
theme — your theme: light, dark or your device's setting.menbru:sidebar-mode — your sidebar mode: open, closed or automatic.menbru-banner-dismissals — which banners you closed, so a closed banner stays closed while you move around.menbru-offline-episode — a marker that you went offline, so the offline notice is not shown again when you reload the page during the same episode.Clearing your browser's site data, or closing the tab for session storage, resets these to their defaults.
There is no cookie banner and no consent control on this application today, and this is deliberate rather than an oversight: no preference or analytics cookie is set, and the Analytics category has nothing in it to switch on or off. A control with no effect would be worse than this sentence. You can choose your theme and sidebar mode from Appearance settings.
Every major browser can block cookies, block third-party cookies only, delete existing ones, or clear everything a site has stored — usually under Privacy or Site settings. Because your theme and sidebar mode are kept in local storage rather than in a cookie, blocking cookies does not affect them; clearing site data does, and resets them to their defaults.
Neither signal changes anything today, because there is no optional category for either to refuse. If an analytics tool is adopted later, this section is where that changes.
The inventory changes whenever a cookie is added or removed, and the version and dates at the top of the current policy tell you which text is current.
